Amber Alert for Girl Missing After Two Found Dead

A man and woman were found dead Saturday inside a home in Little Rock, while a girl who lived with the couple is missing, police said.

Police got a call around 3:15 p.m. Saturday from a man who attended the same church as the slain couple and had found the woman just inside the home’s doorway, police Sgt. Cassandra Davis said.

Officers investigated and found that woman and the dead man, who was further inside the residence. Both of the deceased were in their 60s, according to Davis.

Authorities have not released the names of the couple, nor have they indicated how they died.

But Davis, from the Little Rock police, said that a girl who lived with the pair is missing.

The girl, 12-year-old Amber Whitlow, is either the daughter or granddaughter of the deceased couple, according to the police sergeant.

Police have issued an Amber Alert for Amber, a black girl with a brown ponytail who was last seen wearing knee-length blue jean shorts and a light blue short-sleeve shirt.

The alert describes the “circumstances” for the bulletin as “abduction from a possible homicide.”

Antonio Whitlow, 33, is listed as an “associated adult” in the alert. He is described as a black male with short black hair and standing 6 feet, 3 inches tall.

Davis said Antonio Whitlow is Amber’s brother and that police consider him a suspect in the case.

The girl may be traveling in a four-door, black over blue Lincoln model car from the 1990s that has a chrome luggage rack and chrome trim around the doors and on the wheels, the alert states.

A double homicide and kidnapping earlier today leave neighbors in a quiet Little Rock street in shock and disbelief.

It happened in a family home on Zion Rd. Annette and Bobby Whitlow were found dead in their home. Their adopted daughter, Amber Whitlow, was abducted shortly after by the man accused of the murder.

Edgar Miller, a close friend of the family, still cannot believe how he has lost his friends.

"It's sad. I mean it's sad," said Miller. "It's horrible and it's really hard to digest right now," he said.

A neighbor of the couple says the murder and kidnapping worry her.

"It's kind of scary, having kids. Not knowing if they're coming back," said Tyra Atkins, who has a young daughter.

An Amber Alert was issued today for 12-year-old Amber Whitlow. The Arkansas State Police have named Antonio Whitlow as a suspect in the girl's disappearance.

"His daughter was the same age as my grandson and they would always come down, my grandson would always come down and play with them," said Miller.

Miller says the loss of this minister and his wife will be felt by many.

"It's a hurting thing," said Miller. "We're going to suffer a great loss," he said.
